Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Review

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is a large vehicle and much of its length comes from the big loading bed. The loading bed is long, wide and well-shaped; and can hold cargo of all shapes and sizes. What adds to the V-Cross’ practicality is the fact that the cabin is also quite roomy, although the upright rear backrest is a spoiler. In quality and execution, the V-Cross’s cabin is closer to a like-priced SUV than a utilitarian pick-up.
The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is powered by a 134hp, 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that feels flexible and friendly in the way it delivers its power. The engine is quite refined too and the easy-to-use 5-speed manual gearbox is nice as well. Shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive adds all-weather and all-condition ability to the V-Cross’ repertoire.
Ride quality is fine but there’s a marked difference in how the D-Max V-Cross behaves with and without cargo – the rear-end feels bouncy when not loaded. Unfortunately, the heavy and slow steering makes the V-Cross ponderous to drive in town.
