Tata Nano Review

Tiny as the cute and cheery Nano might be, it is remarkably spacious and roomy on the inside. New colours and materials have also helped spruce-up the cabin, although there’s no escaping that this is ultimately a budget car. Of the many updates to the car, the openable hatch has added a bit by way of practicality to the Nano.
The 38hp, 624cc two-cylinder engine is adequate for the lightweight Nano and helps the little Tata keep up with the flow of city traffic – and no, the Nano is not a car suitable for highway use. The 4-speed manual gearbox is decent enough while the 5-speed AMT adds some convenience to city driving; although auto gearshifts are not particularly quick or smooth. Power steering-equipped Nanos are a breeze to park but ride is choppy, across the board.
