The BMW 7 Series is a large car but it’s the trim that dictates if you’ll see it as a regal limousine or a sporty one. On the inside, the 7 Series is a tech fest. There are screens galore and inclusions like gesture control for the infotainment system make it feel special. Material quality is also up there with the very best. The front seats are good but it’s the ones at the back that captains of industry will love to sink into after a tough day at work. There are all manners of seat settings and options and you can really sprawl out in the back.
The 740Li’s 326hp petrol engine is refined and offers creamy smooth acceleration. With 265hp and 620Nm on call, the 730Ld diesel is no slow coach either and the diesel engine is rather quiet too. All 7 Series versions get air suspension. While the ride is pillowy soft at low speeds and composed at high speeds, it’s not quite class-leading. Should you drive the 7 Series with vigour on a twisty road, you’ll find it more agile than its five-metre-plus size would have you expect.
