Skoda Kodiaq

The smartly turned-out Kodiaq might look substantial but is actually shorter in length than a Superb and the cabin is at a convenient height too. Typical of Skodas, the Kodiaq’s cabin is plush and occupants in rows one and two will also find the space airy. The last row, however, disappoints. It’s not only tight on space but the seating position is awkward and ingress-egress isn’t easy.
Performance from the 2.0-litre diesel is better than its 150hp output would have you expect. Of course, the quick-shifting dual-clutch auto gearbox has an important role to play in the way the Skoda performs. Also nice is how easy the Kodiaq is to place, which is a boon in town. As for ride quality, the Kodiaq does feel a bit fidgety at slow speeds but settles down with speed.

The Kodiaq is available in two trims and you’d be happy with both. There’s nothing base spec about the standard Style version that gets a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, LED headlights and a sophisticated touchscreen infotainment system among other goodies. The L&K adds in a 360-degree camera and digital dials for a bit more money. That said, the Kodiaq is still expensive for what it is.
