Toyota Corolla Altis Review

Historically, Toyota Corollas weren’t renowned for design but there’s no denying that the current model is quite striking to look at. The cabin isn’t quite as well-turned out and quality is not near class-best standards either. However, seat comfort is good and rear-seat occupants will also like the option to adjust the backrest angle. Factor in the good ride quality and you have a car that fits the bill for the chauffeur-driven.
We’d give the Corolla’s 88hp, 1.4-litre diesel engine a miss as its not only lacking in power but isn’t the quietest of engines either. The 140hp, 1.8-litre petrol is not class-leading but it is quiet and performance is fair. The petrol’s manual gearbox is light while the CVT works well in easy-going driving.
