Tata Bolt Review

The Bolt looks attractive but some might still see a link to the old Indica Vista that it’s based on. On the inside, the Tata impresses for space and is one of few hatchbacks that can seat five comfortably. The dash is neatly done too but the touchscreen feels last-gen, the panel fit isn’t the best and there’s minimal in-cabin storage. The boot is also rather small.
The Bolt’s 90hp, 1.2 turbo-petrol Revotron engine delivers fine performance but power delivery isn’t the smoothest and it’s not the most efficient of engines, either. You do have the option of balancing performance with economy using the standard-fit drive modes. The 75hp, 1.3 diesel isn’t perfect either with dull, low-speed responses being the spoiler. It does work well on the highway and is also relatively refined. Irrespective of engine, the Bolt drives like a ‘big’ car and the comfy ride and pleasant handling are highlights.
