The Captur looks distinctly European but its crossover shape hasn’t gone down too well with Indian buyers. An attractive dashboard gives the Captur some distinction on the inside while space is reasonable, even if not remarkable. However, hard plastics, inadequate storage space and even some ergonomic issues mark the Captur’s cabin down.
The Captur’s 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor has some low-speed turbo-lag but comes into its own quickly enough. However, you will have to get used to the diesel Captur’s springy clutch. The Captur petrol is a bit easier to live with, in this respect. Performance is adequate in town but the 106hp, 1.5-litre engine feels underwhelming on the whole. Where the Captur excels is ride comfort. Its suspension is set a bit firm but also gobbles potholes with consummate ease.
