Let’s start with the positives. The Omni’s small size and tight turning radius make it easy to manoeuvre and the 796cc petrol engine is frugal. You can also load quite a lot of cargo in the luggage bay of its five-seat versions.
In all other aspects, the Omni is far from modern standards. Safety seems to have been given a complete miss. The engine also feels wheezy and strained, the ride is perennially bumpy and even the seats are sub-par for comfort – the Omni is as basic as it gets.
