The TUV300 Plus looks utilitarian and the long rear overhang is also quite ungainly. However, the Plus’ space and practicality will be of more relevance to typical buyers. The sad news is that the side-facing third-row seats aren’t comfortable for four adults as claimed, and the absence of seat-belts in the back is also cause for concern. Unfortunately, the middle row is also cramped and the upright backrest takes away from the comfort factor. Front-row occupants have it best; although the high step into the cabin is still an issue. That being said, the dash is neat and quality is fair.
Powering the TUV300 Plus is a 120hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine. Performance is decent in town but the long travel clutch and heavy steering means the TUV300 is not the most city-friendly model around. The engine also feels strained at highway speeds. On the plus side (pun intended), high-speed stability is good and the suspension also absorbs most bumps with ease.
