The Getaway carries on with the old Scorpio’s front-end design and, in effect, looks outdated. What pick-up buyers will be more interested in is the Getaway’s load-lugging ability and the good thing is you can pack in quite a bit on the well-shaped loading bed. It’s not the best for passengers though, considering the surprisingly limited room in the back. The look and feel of the cabin is also very last-gen.
Powering the Scorpio Getaway is a 120hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine that’s mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Performance is fine but the Getaway isn’t what you’d call comfortable. The ride is bouncy (especially without cargo) and the big size makes it a handful in town too.
