With its sharp cuts and creases, the Lexus NX has an aggressive look about it. There’s a sporty look in the cabin, too, but some materials feel more Toyota than Lexus. Front-seat occupants are well-taken care of in terms of comfort but taller occupants at the rear will find headroom an issue. The standard-fit rear-seat backrest recline does help.
The NX’s hybrid powertrain comprises a 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, with a combined output of 197hp. But for all its power, the NX doesn’t feel sporty and gets noisy when driven with verve. The NX is best enjoyed at a relaxed pace, where the powertrain works at its silent and efficient best. Do note, the NX’s suspension isn’t the most pliant and there is more body movement than you would like.
