Last updated in 2017, the Honda City still looks fresh and appealing. The cabin is also inviting as ever and leather embellishments on top-spec trims up the ambience. Quality is still a mixed bag and not everyone is a fan of the asymmetric dashboard, but if there’s one area where the City excels, its comfort. The seats are supremely comfortable and rear seat legroom is exceptional.
Keen drivers will love the 119hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine’s rev-happy nature that’s best enjoyed with the 5-speed manual. Low-speed responses aren’t the best, however. The petrol-CVT auto works well and the standard fit paddleshifters are a nice inclusion. Honda’s 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel offers fantastic driveability and fuel economy but is noisy. The City feels quite nice in the bends but the ride is never completely settled.
