The Honda BR-V has its attractive elements but its MPV-like shape has proven to be a deterrent for many buyers. If not for its design, you’ll like the BR-V for its cabin’s practicality. Ingress-egress is convenient, the third row is usable and there’s room for luggage too. The BR-V’s cabin is a bit narrow so seating three abreast in the middle row isn’t the most comfortable.
The 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine is a touch noisy but offers excellent drivability and is very efficient too. Honda’s 119hp, 1.5-litre petrol feels energetic and enjoyable with the 6-speed manual, and is also responsive when allied with the CVT auto. The BR-V feels much smaller than it is from behind the wheel and you are only reminded of its size when parking. Ride quality is a bit firm but agreeable.
