Visually, the Go+’s elongated rear section distinguishes it from the standard Go hatchback. New bumpers and larger wheels have helped the Go+’s appearance and stance, but it’s no looker. The cabin looks much nicer than before, courtesy a smart, new dashboard and new front seats. In terms of quality and rear seat space, the Go+ is middle-of-the-road by hatchback standards. The third row is unique but access is poor, space is tight even for kids and there’s a genuine concern of safety in the event of a rear-end collision. Frankly, the rearmost row is best kept folded to free up space for more luggage.
The Go+’s 68hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, which comes allied with a 5-speed manual transmission, is peppy in town but also feels laboured at highway speeds. The ride and handling package also seems more tuned for city use.
