Ride and handling is one its core strengths. It's great fun to drive.
257-litre boot: Well-shaped boot, with a slightly lower loading lip.
All black and brown dashboard top makes the cabin a bit too dark.
Front seats on the Freestyle are comfy.
Space at the rear is tighter in Ford, especially for taller passengers.
Pop-up type placement of the touchscreen goes well with the overall design of the Freestyle. Touchscreen is very easy to use and sound quality from the speakers is excellent.
The Freestyle's instrument panel design is too plain. Should've been updated.
Premium auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror on the Ford.
Although not in the Ford's league, it takes to bad roads easily.
LED projector headlamps with daytime running lamps.
260-litre boot: Slightly larger boot with an option to split seats in 60:40.
Bright, two-tone colour theme really lifts the cabin's appeal and gives an airy feel.
Tall seating position gives a nice view outside the Ignis.
Overall, the Maruti's cushioning is a bit soft.
Offset placement of the screen feels like an afterthought. Touch responses are a bit slow. But good graphics make it very easy to read.
The Ignis gets adjustable rear neck restraints and 60:40 split seat.
The Freestyle undercuts its cross-hatch rivals and aims to take on premium hatchbacks like the Baleno with its pricing.
Freestyle previews the look of the refreshed Figo and Aspire that will come soon.
Freestyle isn’t ruffled by bumps taken at speed, and stability is really good.
It’s got all manner of cross-hatch addenda. Increased ride height makes it look more substantial than the Figo.
C-shaped detailing stylish on the fog lamp.
