The Audi A3 Cabriolet is a compact and cheerful-looking car but it isn't quite cutting edge any more. That’s true of the cabin too; it is neatly laid-out and well put together but lacks some wow factor. Think of the A3 Cabriolet as a ‘2+2’ and you won’t have much of an issue with the limited rear seat space. What’s nice is that even with the roof down, the boot is useable.
Like the A3 sedan, the A3 Cabriolet’s 150hp, 1.4-litre petrol engine stands out for its cylinder deactivation technology. You can’t tell when the cylinders switch off to maximise efficiency and refinement levels on the whole are good. There’s even enough go for relaxed cruising but when you want to drive hard, you’d wish the engine had more power on call; more so because the A3 Cabriolet is a fairly entertaining handler and good fun to drive on twisty roads.
