Volkswagen has launched another special edition during its Volksfest 2017 sales event – the Vento AllStar. Following in the footsteps of the Polo AllStar that launched last year in November, the mid-size sedan now comes with a few exterior and interior changes.

The AllStar will sit below the top-spec Highline Plus variant but above the Highline trim in the Vento range. The special edition is based on the mid-spec Comfortline variant that comes with electrically adjustable ORVMs, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with chrome accents and piano black finish, a leather-wrapped gearshift knob, cruise control, automatic climate control, a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and rear centre armrest. The Vento AllStar additionally gets the Blue Silk colour, Linas alloy wheels, aluminium pedals, black and grey interiors, Pentastripe Anthrazit fabric seats, a leather-wrapped handbrake and AllStar badging on the scuff plate and B-pillar.

This new trim will be available with the 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, but not with the 105hp 1.2-litre TSI motor. The 1.6-litre petrol engine develops 105hp and 175Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission while the 110hp/250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel mill gets the option of a five-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The VW Vento rivals the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and the newly launched Hyundai Verna. In order to cash in on the festive season, the Vento AllStar will join the Polo Anniversary Edition and Ameo Anniversary Edition in Volkswagen’s India line-up.
