Unique paint scheme and interior trim to help distinguish special variant from the standard Tigor; could be offered with both petrol and diesel engines

To give the slow-selling Tigor compact sedan a shot in the arm, Tata Motors is readying a special edition named the 'Buzz' for market launch.

Spy pictures reveal that the Tigor Buzz - based on the mid-spec XM trim - will sport a contrast roof, black ORVM casings and will likely feature red highlights on the grille and its wheel covers. On the inside, it will sport red highlights around the AC vents.

It will stay mechanically identical to the standard Tigor, which means it'll be available with the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.05-litre diesel, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

With demand for its compact sedan slowing and newer rivals - which are also one size bigger than the Tigor - arriving on the scene, Tata is hoping to push sales with this special edition offering.

The Buzz is likely to command a small premium over the price of the standard Tigor XM, which is priced at Rs 6.17 lakh for the petrol, and Rs 7.27 lakh for the diesel (all prices on-road, Mumbai).
