Special edition version of the Tata Tigor is expected to be based on the low-spec XM trim; launch imminent.

Following spy shots of the new Tata Tigor Buzz edition that surfaced online earlier this week, a leaked image of the final product has made its way on to the internet. The Tigor Buzz, expected to be based on the low-spec XM trim, gets a slew of visual upgrades to differentiate it from the standard car.

Among the big changes are contrast colour scheme for the roof and mirrors, along with a new design for the alloy wheels. A red accent on the wheels and grille are the other style-enhancing touches on the Buzz edition. Prominent ‘Buzz’ badging at the rear also distinguishes this version of the Tigor.

On the inside, the Tigor Buzz edition will get red highlights around the air con vents to uplift the ambience in the dual-tone interior. Other tweaks on the inside will include gloss black elements and a different pattern for the seat fabric. Equipment levels are expected to match the XM-spec Tigors that stand second from the bottom in the trim list. An infotainment system by Harman will be part of the package but airbags will not.

The Tigor Buzz will be offered with both the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05-litre diesel engine options. However, it will be available with manual transmission only. AMT will not be offered on this model.

We expect the Buzz to be come in at a reasonable premium over the standard Tigor XM. For reference, the standard Tigor XM in petrol form costs Rs 5.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the diesel version costs Rs 6.05 lakh.

The Tigor line-up will also be bolstered with the arrival of the sportier JTP version later this year, and Tata Motors is also looking at a market launch for the electric version of its compact sedan
