Tata unveils the Punch EV facelift

Ahead of its launch, Tata has revealed what the Punch EV facelift looks like from the outside. The front-end gets a revised design which gets a closed-off look for the grille. This time around however, it omits the black piece of trim connecting the headlight unit, and the LED light bar connecting the LED DRLs. Lower down the front bumper, the scuff plate also receives a slight redesign.

  2. Could likely get the Nexon EV's larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system

The aero-optimized alloy wheels get an updated design, inspired by those on the bigger Nexon EV. Additionally, a new colour will be available on the Punch EV facelift which looks similar to the 'Sunlit Yellow' paint seen on the Harrier SUV with a black roof.

As mentioned earlier, the facelift has brought in subtle design revisions to the exterior. Tata has not revealed how the rear end looks like, but expect it to get a connected LED tail-lamp setup as seen on its ICE-powered counterpart. Changes on the inside are likely to be minimal, with minor design revisions. A larger 12.3-inch infotainment system running newer software as seen on the Nexon EV could likely make its way to the Punch EV.

Meanwhile, the equipment list will retain features like a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, connected car tech, and ambient lighting. A Level 2 ADAS suite could likely be a part of the Punch EV facelift's safety kit.

The powertrain options on the Punch EV are likely to be unchanged. It is expected to continue with 25kWh and 35kWh battery pack options with ARAI-claimed ranges of 265km and 365km respectively. The motor on the 25kWh unit produces 82hp and 114Nm of torque while the 35kWh battery packs' motor delivers 122hp and 190Nm of torque. Expect the facelift to be priced slightly higher than the current model which is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom)
