The Tata Harrier is easily one of the biggest and most important launches of 2019. And you have to hand it to Tata Motors for pricing the SUV very aggressively. Tata Harrier prices start at Rs 12.69 lakh and top off at Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The SUV has been launched in a singly diesel engine-manual gearbox form only, and is available in four variants. Tata has been accepting bookings for the Harrier since October 2018, and sources claim the booking count had crossed 16,000 at the end of December 2018.

However, there is some bad news if you are a prospective Tata Harrier buyer. While deliveries commence today, the SUV already has a three-month waiting period. The long wait could be a dampener for buyers who have been following the SUV since it was first shown as the H5X Concept at Auto Expo 2018.

As a reminder, the Harrier is powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 140hp and 350Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. A Hyundai-sourced automatic gearbox-equipped version of the Harrier will come at a later stage and a seven-seat version of the SUV is also slated for an end-2019 launch
