Hyundai to offer 3 year/1,00,000km warranty on Santro; booking amount set at Rs 11,100.

Hyundai has taken the wraps off its new Santro and you can read our very first driving impression of the new model right here. While Hyundai has not shared complete specifications and trim details as yet, we can now confirm that the carmaker will sell its all-new Santro in eight variants spread across two gearbox and fuel options.

First up, the Hyundai Santro petrol will come with a 69hp, four-cylinder 1.1-litre engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as reported earlier. This engine-gearbox option will get six variants starting from the base DLite (likely to start around Rs 3.7 lakh), Era, Magna, Sportz and the top-spec Asta trim.

Hyundai will also offer a CNG-powered version of the Santro that will come with a lower powered 58hp, 1.1-litre engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Santro with the factory-fitted CNG kit will be available in Magna and Sportz trims at launch.

Lastly, Hyundai will, for the first time, offer an AMT gearbox in India, making its debut in the Santro. The Hyundai Santro Smart Auto AMT will also be available on the Magna and Sportz trims which means the top-spec Santro Asta won't come with an AMT gearbox. Hyundai will also not offer the Santro AMT with a CNG option.

The company will offer a 3 year/1,00,000km warranty on the Santro along with a three-year roadside assistance package. The Korean brand is also likely to introduce a doorstep service programme on the car for quicker service turnarounds.

Higher trims will get all the bells and whistles including a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear washer, wiper and defogger, a reverse camera, segment-first rear AC vents, USB ports and more.

On the safety front, the Santro will come with ABS, EBD, a driver's airbag and rear parking sensors as standard. The new Santro will be available seven exterior paint shades. Dealers are expected to begin delivery of the car around October 25, 2018. Pricing for the new Santro will be announced at the official launch event on October 23, 2018.
