The compact sedan has achieved this milestone five months after its launch, the fastest by a Honda car.

Honda’s all-new Amaze, which had launched earlier this year in May 2018, has crossed the 50,000 sales mark in just five months. This achievement by a new Honda model is a record for the Japanese brand in India.

Honda has also revealed that 20 percent of buyers are first-timers. The company also claims that 40 percent of sales of the compact sedan are from Tier-I cities, while Tier-II and Tier-III cities accounted for 30 percent each.

Speaking at the occasion, Honda India’s Director Sales and Marketing, Makoto Hyoda, said that the CVT has been well received with 30 percent customers opting for the automatic variant in both petrol and diesel cars.

It is worth noting that within the first few months of a launch, sales of new models are usually high. Only time will tell whether the Amaze will be able to sustain these numbers in the highly competitive compact sedan segment.
