Mercedes-Benz is rapidly expanding its AMG-badged performance portfolio in India. The latest to arrive is the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe that has a price tag of Rs 74.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The GLC 43 Coupe shares its 367hp 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 with its 43-badged stable mates from the AMG range. The motor powers all-four-wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission that helps this SUV hit the ton mark in 4.9 seconds and go on to an electronically top whack of 250kph.

The GLC 43 Coupe is decidedly sportier than its standard SUV counterpart and features a diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, sporty air intakes and a chrome front splitter. The rear gets quad chrome-plated tailpipes and a sharp spoiler lip. 19-inch alloys will come as standard while 21-inchers are available as an option.

In a bid to make the Coupe-styled SUV capable on the road, it gets independent sports suspension with adjustable dampers as standard, as well as adjustable ride height.

The interiors continue the exterior’s sporty theme with contrasting black leather upholstery with red stitching, and a multifunction sports steering wheel. A 7.0-inch infotainment with Bluetooth and USB connectivity is standard, as is a race timer.

The GLC 43 Coupe comes with five drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. Each mode adjusts the engine, gearbox, speed-sensitive steering and suspension. Fuel efficiency has been enhanced by tech like cylinder shut-off and start-stop.

While the this SUV is positioned between the stock GLC Coupe and the full-fat GLC 63 Coupe in international markets, the GLC 43 Coupe will join the GLE 43 Coupe, SLC 43 and C 43 in India.
