Maruti Suzuki India has increased the production of the Vitara Brezza to reduce waiting periods. The compact SUV has seen high demand ever since it was introduced in March 2016. Tentative waiting periods for both, the AMT-equipped model and the manual are six weeks; down from two months earlier.
The production of the Vitara Brezza was increased to 94,000 units during April-October 2018, a 10 percent increase compared to the same months last year. In 2017-18, Maruti Suzuki sold over 1.48 lakh units of Vitara Brezza. The Maruti has consistently been the highest selling UV in the country since its launch. With 15,832 units sold last month, Maruti moved 510 units per day during October.
Speaking about the ramped up production of the Vitara Brezza, R.S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “The high demand for our popular models such as the Vitara Brezza is a testimony of our best in class technology, design and customer experience. With the Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant operational at its full capacity of 2.5 lakh units annually in Gujarat, we are able to increase the output. We are confident that with the reduced waiting period, we will be able to enhance the car buying and ownership experience of our customers.”
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes with a solitary 1.3-litre diesel engine which puts out 90hp and 200Nm of torque. Alongside a 5-speed manual, Maruti introduced a 5-speed AMT gearbox for the SUV earlier this year. The Vitara Brezza competes with the Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.
