Images of Ferrari’s latest models – the Monza SP1 and SP2 – have been leaked online, ahead of their official debut. Captured at Ferrari’s invite-only Icona event, the photos reveal styling details of the single-seat SP1 and two-seat SP2 limited-run models.

The source of the leak, an Instagram account devoted to images of the new car, alleges that the cars are limited to 200 units, altogether. However, it’s not yet known whether the single-seat SP1 and two-seat SP2 will take 100 sales apiece.

Both are based on the Ferrari 812 Superfast, however, meaning that the same 800hp, 6.5-litre V12 is mounted at the front of the car, with power heading only to the rear wheels. The bodywork is constructed from carbonfibre, alleges the source, while the chassis is aluminium.

It's not yet known if the cars exceed the 812 Superfast's top speed of 340kph and 0-100kph time of 2.9sec, but both cars' lack of roof suggests a less road-friendly set-up and a potential for track performance. A weight has not yet been given for either car.

Differentiating the cars is a second seat in the SP2, with a sculpted rear panel behind it to match the driver’s side. Full styling of the SP2 isn't revealed in the leaked photos, but it’s likely to be similar between the two.

At the front, the cars have slim lights with simple daytime running light designs, while the rear is similarly simple, with full-width light bars above quad-exhaust tips.

Ferrari aims to double profits in the coming years, as part of a plan by late CEO Sergio Marchionne that will have the brand increase its production volumes and grow the number of limited-run special models it produces.

The last of these special edition models to be revealed was the one-off SP38, revealed in May as a 488-based one-off with nods to the styling of the F40 and 308 GTB.
