Based on the Comfortline variant, the special-edition VW Polo Pace is surprisingly cheaper by Rs 11,700; gets new alloy wheels.

Volkswagen has launched a limited-edition model of the Polo 1.0, called the Polo Pace, priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the mid-spec Comfortline trim, the Polo Pace is equipped with a new set of 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels; the standard variant is sold with steel rims.

Surprisingly, even with the addition of alloy wheels, VW has priced the Pace Rs 11,700 cheaper than the standard Comfortline variant, which could be a move to push sales. Recently, the carmaker also downsized the Polo’s engine without making any changes to the prices.

The previous 1.2-litre petrol engine of the Polo was replaced with a smaller 1.0-litre, three-cylinder motor. At 76hp, the maximum output of the engine is up by 1hp, while at 95Nm, the torque has been compromised by a good 20Nm. VW also claims to have bettered the fuel economy by 2kpl.
