The 2018 Honda Activa 125 receives more features, remains similar mechanically.

Honda has launched the updated version of the Activa 125 at Rs 59,621 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is  a premium of around Rs 2,000 over the older model.

The new Activa 125 receives an LED headlight, a redesigned semi-digital instrument console (with an eco-mode and service due indicator), four-in-one ignition, and a separate switch to open the seat. Cosmetic updates include a chrome muffler cover (on the top-spec disc variant) and grey alloy wheels  on the mid and top-spec variant. New colours are also available and the 125cc scooter now gets two new matte shades – ‘matte crust metallic’ and ‘matte selene silver metallic’. An underseat mobile charger continues to be an optional extra.

The 2018 Honda Activa 125 gets a 3-step adjustable monoshock unit at the back, while the telescopic fork at front is similar to the older model. It also carries forward the metal body panels, while its sibling, the Honda Grazia features fibre panels.

The Activa 125 is powered by the same 8.52hp/10.54Nm 124.9cc engine as its predecessor. The base and mid variant features drum brake on both wheels, while front disc brake is only offered on the top-spec variant. CBS (combined braking system) is standard across the range.

The updates on the Activa 125 were much-needed, as it has been overshadowed by its arch rival, the Suzuki Access 125, with respect to sales figures. Honda had also updated the Activa 5G early this year and the Honda Dio as well, both with similar features.

2018 Honda Activa 125 price list (ex-showroom, Delhi):

    Activa 125 drum – Rs 59, 621

    Activa 125 drum/alloy – Rs 61,558

    Activa 125 disc – Rs 64,007
