Suzuki has launched the 2018 range of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF motorcycles. The Gixxer and Gixxer SF can now be had with a new two-tone colour – Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver. The base Gixxer with rear drum brakes is priced at Rs 77,015, while the rear disc variant retails for Rs Rs 80,929 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The outgoing blue-coloured SF has been updated with new Ecstar logos. The SF, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 90,037 and the ABS version will set you back by Rs 96,386 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Suzuki had launched the BS-IV compliant Gixxer and Gixxer SF models in March 2017. Aside from the price hike, the motorcycles remained identical to the older models. The 155cc single-cylinder motor continues to produce 14.8hp of power and 14Nm of torque, and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The kerb weight of the Gixxer stands at 135kg while the Gixxer SF (non-ABS) stands at 140kg. The ABS-equipped Gixxer SF doesn’t differ mechanically from the non-ABS model in any way, save for a 1kg increase in kerb weight. The base variant of the Gixxer is still not available with ABS.

Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP – Sales and Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd, said, “As a product, both the Gixxer and Gixxer SF are known to be meant for those who believe in riding ahead of the pack; and are a benchmark for the segment. With the new 2018 series, this exciting ride is set to continue.”
